More Graduation Photos

Congratulations, Sara!

Our family now has its first genuine college graduate! Sara finally graduated from UTC yesterday, and we are all so relieved (and proud) that the deed is done. Nursing school is stressful enough, but add the burden of working 40 hours a week on top of it, and it makes for a Very Stressed-out Sister(s).

We were very pleased and privileged to be able to see Sara be designated to be one of two recipients of the prestigious Mary B. Jackson Award.

Congratulations, Sara!

The Forgotten Coupon

I found this coupon online for $5 off of my choice of any number of medications (Tylenol, etc.). And so, last night, I got a big old bottle of Tylenol and proudly tucked it into my cart, knowing that this $7.37 bottle would only cost me approximately $2.37. My mistake was in going to the grocery section between the time of plucking the bottle off the shelf and in that of paying for said pills. Alas, it was not until after I had closed my wallet that I remembered the coupon! And no, Mrs. Cashier said she could not reverse it. And customer service had just closed. Argh!

I decided that I would check to see if there were any stray employees around the customer service area anyway, for I am a financially-challenged Student, and I would much rather deal with my periodic headaches knowing that I had gotten a Good Deal than knowing that I had Forgotten. There was, as it turns out, one person in customer service, but he referred me to cash register 15 for returns after 10:00. So I stood in line there for a while. Unfortunately, the gal running the cash register was not a Veteran Cashier, and it was not fun to be a troublemaker for her. But many hassles later, I emerged from the store—triumphant and waving a $5 bill.

If Tylenol wants to subsidize my headaches, who am I to turn that down?
