Dead Car

I left my car’s lights on for about five hours and had a Very Dead Car when I returned to the top level of the parking structure this afternoon. I suppose it was because I turned my lights on to go through four levels of a Very Dark garage and then burst out into the sunlight on the top level, subsequently forgetting a Small Thing like lights.

So I called my sister on her cell and beseeched her to come all the way out of her building and jump my car off—a bit of a trick when there are cars on either side of you and a concrete wall dead ahead. We linked our jumper cables together and made sure not to zap the silver mustang between our cars. It made for a Very Testy Sister who stood there holding the conjoined cables together while I cranked the errant car up. So I meekly asked for the scolding that was sure to come, to which she obliged.

Bad Kris, Bad Kris.
