My Spring Lament

I’m so sad. My Spring Break is practically over, and as I predicted, I have not gotten finished what I needed to. I worked as much as I could, then spent three evenings doing nothing but medical aid stuff… so much, in fact, that I’m S I C K of it. And the sad thing is that I’m not even done with that. So much left to do…

The good news is that I did get one paper finished—my community service project—which is a big relief. For the week ahead, I’ve got to memorize and perform a German poem, meet with my STD group (that doesn’t sound good, does it?), catch up my Accounting homework, and then really be disciplined in my homework habits NEXT weekend.

Every year, I try to notice when the trees start turning green in the spring. And I’m usually so busy that I end up missing it anyway. But as we drove home from Virginia today (we were at my cousin’s wedding), I saw quite a few trees in the earliest stages of turning green. And I was glad that I had finally Noticed.

Tomorrow night, Sharon and I are to meet our traveling companions for our Germany trip. Scary business, for sure. We will be meeting every Monday night until the trip. My schedule is pretty full already—I know I’ll miss my Monday evenings for homework. Somehow I’ve just GOT to get organized and squeeze a little more into my days and a whole lot more into my weekends.

I am so ready for this semester to be finished. As my Russian professor likes to say, “Let’s complete and be done with it.”
